Winter in Ehrwald

Amid fairytale winter landscapes you will find fantastic ski runs, cross-country trails and walking paths, as well as countless other sports and leisure pursuits. Whether you stay indoors or venture out into the fresh mountain air, Ehwald offers something for everyone. Lying at the southern base of the Zugspitze, Germany's highest mountain borders with the beautiful Austria and offers guaranteed snow in the winter months.

Skiing

With no less than 207 km of pistes over 9 ski areas, Ehrwald is the perfect resort in which to enjoy an amazing ski holiday and is good for all levels of skiers. With a diverse range of challenges- a total of 74 blue runs, 55 red runs and 11 black runs, you can be sure that there is something to suit all abilities. A recent addition to the area, a brand new state-of-the-art six seater ski lift departs from just outside the hotel a perfect option for those looking for doorstep skiing. 

Snowshoeing

In total, there are around 9 different snowshoe trails for visitors to venture down within the region of Ehrwald. During the summer months the area is celebrated for its beautiful hiking trails, so with the addition of snow to add another level of beauty, the winter should be no different. Each of the trails vary in length and difficulty so you should find one to suit.

Toboganning

The village of Ehrwald lies at an altitude of more than 1000m which is the perfect set up for the Ehrwalder Alm Toboggan Run. The run leads along a forest trail and can pick up quite a lot of speed. On Tuesdays and Fridays there is night tobogganing on the floodlit run up until 23:45. Quite the experience!
